Last night the softball girls played under the lights at U of M’s Alumni Field – first pitch was at 7 pm – against Ann Arbor Greenhills. The third time ended up being a charm for the girls, after two previously scheduled dates had to be cancelled due to rain/storms, as the girls routed Greenhills in a 15 – 0 win.
Alaina DiDio was spectacular on the mound – striking out all but two batters that she faced. Due to the mercy rule, the game ended at the bottom of the 4th, leaving her with 10 strikeouts after facing 12 batters.
The team also had a great night of hitting. Scoring 10 runs in the third inning alone. Two of those runs came courtesy of homeruns by two Whitmore Lake girls: Paige Everard and Kylie Wilson capped off the night by knocked in some runs with their inside-the-park homeruns at Alumni Field.
