The softball team’s tough season continues as they were trounced by the other Trojans from Madison. The pitching for Madison held our Trojans to only 1 run in two games.
Senior captain Cassie Germain expressed disappointment in the team’s fielding ability as they “had way too many errors” in the game last night. She felt as though the team did not perform at its best and needed to continue to improve on some of the fundamentals. Germain told me that if they hit in games the way they hit in practice, they would have more success. When asked about the future of the team, Germain was sure that they would continue to improve because they are “young but already have a lot of talent” and they will be very experienced since they get so much playing time already. Junior captain Karolyn Wagner was on the same page about last night and the future, telling me that the problem last night was mental mistakes, and that “the future is definitely going to entail improvement.”
The softball team has already won more games this year than they did last year, and they are only half way through this season. They aren’t the winningest team at the school, but they are headed towards success for sure.
