Just like a greek myth, the Gryphons battled against our Trojan army last night in Whitmore Lake. Sadly, as March begins, Women’s basketball at Whitmore Lake High School has come to an end for the season. The girls’ District Final is set with the Greenhills Gryphons playing against the Stars of Saint Catherine Academy.
The Trojans fell short in the district Semifinals against Greenhills despite their valiant defensive effort. Whitmore Lake allowed only 34 points as they racked up a mountain of steals. Their powerful defense was not enough to move on to the district final game. Offense seemed to be the chink in the armor of Whitmore Lake as they had trouble putting the ball in the hole, finishing the night with 15 points. It was a sad end to the season, but the Women’s basketball team fought hard after a long and tiring season.
As the season has now ended, we wish the seniors good luck as they move on from high school and encourage the rest of the team to continue working hard and improving!
